U V,s Sterilisers.

Hi Team, Have been reading some of my old Discus books( Wild_Caught Discus by Berne Degen 1995)..... to see how much has changed.

To control bacterial infections do you lot use UV,s and if so do you run them all the time or just one a week.....

Also what brands are good....??

I believe discus keeper's also don't use carbon for general use....?

No carbon and green killing machine uv’s.

I don't use any carbon and run a green killing machine as well. Run the uv all the time in my grow out tank. Need to get something set up in my main discus tank. Still a little confused on clarifier vs sterilizer if it is over 18 watts it works as a sterilizer is this correct?

The GKM are steralizers. It’s how fast the water goes past the light. That’s why they are an independent unit.
