Default I have a lifetimes supply of Potassium Permanganate

I am a prepper packrat...fully admit it.If I even remotedly think I can use something sometime down the line I will not throw it away. Its been real useful for me to be this way. About 10 years ago a family member had a fire restoration company that went out of business. I helped him clean out his shop. In the shop there were two 5 gallon pails of an air filter media...Its used to clean the air of sulfur, formaldehyde, and smells. I recognized right away that it had alot of activated carbon in it..and what I thought at the time was ammochips. He was going to throw them out so I took the two buckets. He said they cost close to $150 each and were a mistake purchase..never used. Took the buckets home and did some research... turns out I was half right and half wrong..It was carbon but not ammochips ..it was a kind of porous matrix best I can tell...like sintered glass thats coated in Potassium Permanganate and impregnated with it. Each Bucket is 30 lbs. Theres a ton of Potassium Permanganate on this stuff. Thats a cool find I thought so I put the buckets in my basement and promptly forgot about them.

Fast forward to yesterday.I found them and remembered what they were. Had a couple of tanks I wanted to clean so took a cup of the media out and placed it some water..deep dark purple. Poured it into the tank. One cup of the media turns a 75 gallon tank so purple you can't see through it. Theres no way to know how much PP is in this....but its alot. Since I rarely use PP for anything other than cleaning I figure I probably have enough for decades and decades..

Apparently Potassium Permanganate is also good for gardening... its a fungicide and pest killer. ..and its a Good fertilizer. I do alot of gardening but still its going to take me a long time to use all this.. just for a test...I keep filling the container of media with water and its still loaded with pp... amazing really.

When I downsized my house in 2023, I found 2 x 5 gal unopened buckets of ChorAm0-X powder.
At my age, everything is irritating.

Hey Al, I have a way you can go through it a lot quicker but it would require you to buy a lot more fish tanks!!!
