They're not always pointy. PB's often don't have pointy dorsals. but in my Blue SS and Turks the dorsal always comes to a point. The point develops as the fish gets older.
I guess this question has been asked and answered a 1000 times but is it a fact
that the male dorsal extends to the end of there tail whereas the female dorsal
ends where the tail and the body join? also, I should add is the mails dorsal always pointy?

That being said, I had a very masculine liking female PB with a pointed dorsal fin.
Male dorsals are "pointier", but that may not be very pointy.
At my age, everything is irritating.
