Default Do discus breed year around?

Hello all I have a pair that have been laying eggs every Monday for the last month or so and just wondering how long they will continue doing this? I had them in a community tank they did get wrigglers once. They disappeared overnight, the water in that tank has a pretty hight tds so never expected success. It seems to take a lot out of the female, she barely leaves the eggs, constantly fanning them. What do you do when they continue laying weekly? Don't think it could be healthy for fish to keep doing this can it?

The female is on her spawning cycle, and will stop spawning. I pull out the eggs and raise the spawning artificially.

Theres not much you can do to stop her from spawning except to remove her and keep.her alone or just with females. I separated all my males and females for about 2 years here when I wanted them to stop breeding.

Eventually if you leave her where she is she will stop on her own but you are correct... it takes alot out of them. Spawning is very stressful on a fish and uses alot of its resources. The way discus spawn in captivity with the high number of failed spawns probably contributes greatly to the general life expectancy of discus as only being a few years.
