If the fry are the size of baby guppies then BBS can be their first feeding, otherwise use the yolk.

Are you asking about discus fry with parents or artificially raised?

If fry with parentsits best to let the fry attach and feed a few days before feedinf brine shrimp. The fry's initial feeding will help with the parent -fry bond and stimulates slime production. After a few day the fry can easily handle baby brime shrimp.

If artificially raising there are several methods of raising the fry in the first few day . Using dried Egg yolk is one..egg powder is another and still others use strians of brine shrimp that are smaller than normal... reportedly "san francisco bay " strains are generally thought of as smaller strains though I wonder if all of whats sold as San Fran strain in the USA is really that. It commands a higher
    Price because its more rare.

I start feed freshly hatched baby brine shrimp to fry at 4 days free swimming. It's the first food I use for parent raised spawn.
At my age, everything is irritating.
