Just a quick update, it has been a little over 3 weeks and seems like all the shrimp are happy and healthy. Will be really nice if they breed and have shrimplets in my water, if so that will save me the problem of opening up my brand new RO unit and using it for the ideal parameters. Much easier to use straight tap water parameters with water conditioner. After a couple of months if everything is still doing good I will be looking for Blue Diamond and Bloody Mary shrimp if anyone on here has any of these.

Ok just so you know. Any type of shrimp when mixed revert to mixes of colors and go back to brown/ gray. The blues and reds you are asking about all come from the wild version. To make these colors you separate the colors and keep breeding like colors. How I know . The ones I sent you are mixes of bloody Mary’s,blues, orange, yellows, reds, blacks. These colors and green, clear, dark brown and other colors have all appeared over the years.

If they're living in your water, I feel pretty comfortable saying they will breed in it. I wouldn't be worried at all.

My daughter insisted on mixing yellows and blues and we just got a muttled mix of clearish, browns, blacks, blues, etc. Which I don't mind at all, actually, it's kind of neat seeing the variety. But if you want nice red ones popping in a planted tank, for instance, you need to separate them by color like Tom is saying. Even with the single color, they'll eventually throw some off colored ones and if they're not culled out... it will eventually drift away from the color you want.

I totally agree I will not be mixing colors at all, each color will have their own dedicated tank to improve on the color. Mixing colors were never my intentions.

Just a quick update, cherry shrimp are doing great and they are 5 weeks old. For the first time having shrimp they are definitely hardier than I thought which is great because I don't have to mess with my water parameters. Just received Blue Diamond Neocaradina shrimp 5 days ago which are the ones that I have really wanted and they are doing great as well.

You'll be overrun with babies soon enough! Should start seeing some shrimplets and/or berried females soon, I would guess. Unless everything was pretty young.

Some of my Blue Diamonds are berried so it won't be much longer.

I'd had cherry shrimp for awhile and thought 1) half the adults had died within the first month and 2) they'd had no babies. When I tore the tank down all of the adults were still alive and well and there were like 60 shrimplets in the tank. The tank had Fluval Stratum so plenty of tiny places to hide. They also treat course sponge filters like shrimplet hotels.

It's been a while since my last update, the Cherry shrimp are doing great as you can see by the picture, my Blue Diamonds are doing really well too a lot of females are berried and have seen some new shrimplets in there as well. I will take pictures of those but right now they are hard to see since they are on a black substrate. I would like to transfer them to a lighter substrate so you can see them better.

Looks like they are doing great. One thing is you should have more plants. Back wall with all the algae is great. You’ll see shrimplets crawling all over that soon. In my tanks I leave the back wallli,e that and keep the other 3 clean. Again more plants. If looking I’ve got lots of hornwort, westeria and susswassertang I can send you. Plants and more hard scape IMG_0652.jpg these guys are constantly eating. IMG_0654.jpg. All hiding now but add a little food and wait a few minutes.
