Default Anyone traveling to see the eclipse in April?

I'm planning on heading out to Dallas (little south of Dallas) to see this one. Hopefully the clouds hold off. Anyone traveling anywhere to see it? The one in 2017 came right through town so didn't have to go anywhere, my sequence of it below. Next to seeing a rocket launch or capturing the Milky Way it could be the coolest space related subject I've ever photographed and witnessed.

Super nice Matt, this is was my first composition ever of a series of the Wolf Moon one year. I included a part of the Milky Way as the background. I wish I could go but am hubby sitting for now. Hope you have clear skies!

    Hi Matt,

I am lucky enough to live in Austin. We bought one day passes to a state park right on the trajectory of the eclipse. We will be under full darkness for about 4mins.

I went just north of Oconto, Nebraska to Pressy Wildlife area in 2017. That few minutes was worth the 7 hour drive but I won't be making the trip this time. I turned it into a business trip to Lexington and spent 10 minutes visiting a customer so my company paid all expenses, lol...

Unfortunately, I left my decent camera at home and my phone camera wasn't good enough to take quality photo's.

So I called an audible on the Friday before the eclipse. The forecast for Dallas was grim, so I cancelled everything on that Friday and chose to drive to southern Illinois instead, a small town called McLeansboro. Made some very last minute hotel reservations and stayed in Nashville and just drove in on Monday morning and drove back to Nashville after the eclipse. Found an empty church parking lot and watched it from there with others that trickled in from out of town looking for a spot. Turned out to be an incredible experience once again, my second totality 2017 and 2024. Well worth the trip and I saved roughly $1600 by driving to IL instead of flying to Texas, very happy with that. Still working the photos but have a couple quick ones.

Feel your pain of last minute plan changes….. we had to skip our state park reservation and drive about 2 1/2 hours to avoid the bad weather.
We ended up somewhere close to Waco but lucky enough to have a beautiful day without any clouds in the sky. The eclipse was one hell of an event, difficult to describe those 3+ mins.

Neat pictures! I love the last one where you can even make out solar flares off the surface of the sun.

They're all stunning, Matt. I loved the diamond ring.

We were only having a partial this year, same as last time. Still, I was looking forward to seeing the crest moons shadows through the leaves and dancing on the ground. But it was overcast and rainy all day so I got nothin'.
