Default Hi there! New to this side of the hobby. Any tips welcome :)

So I've been fishkeeping for 20+ years (as a kid my dad was doing everything it still counts lol!) I currently do alot of monster fishkeeping but I wanted to take a crack at the discus side of the hobby.

I currently have a cycled 75 gallon with pool filter sand as a substrate and some driftwood that came from my bigger established tank. What would you recommend to get started as far as stocking? Are there any params that I need to look out for that I normally wouldn't look at coming from keeping larger predatory fish(I usually only check pH, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite)?

Here's my current main tank right after feeding

The key to raising high quality discus is simply lots of water changes. Some of us change 100% of the water daily in our fry tanks, but a 100% water change weekly would be the very minimum to keeping them alive. More filtration does not impact this requirement. So what you need is to have an easy way to make water changes. Depending on your location, you may also need a container/tank to condition the water for 24 hours prior to making the water change. That's the difference between keeping discus and any other large cichlid...
At my age, everything is irritating.

Noted. I usually change 70% weekly on my large tank so this would be a nice addition for my tasks on water change day!

As Willie said, good water is the key to success!! Discus can handle higher ph just fine but they need a stabile ph. Aging water will help achieve this...
