The large pointy dorsal possible says male but unfortunately there's only one way to prove it and that's to let the have a shot as spawning.

    Tom,
I'm not getting any testosterone Vibs there from either and Based on the Dorsal fins of them I would say, most likely females. Please do understand that I guarantee I am correct 50% of the time. best way to be sure it put the 3 fish together and see what happens.

I was just going to ask the question. Ca you tell a male from a female by the shape of the dorsal
and anal fin. I know I have 1 male because he has that extra fin on his dorsal.
Some look like males and females because of what i have read over the years the the males
dorsal and anal form a circle with the end of the tail fin, while the female fins fall short
    of making a circle.
Is this a reliable indication of sex?

Jay Im not sure it is. Most of the ways short of getting ip close and person with their vents have enough variability that its challenging. My most reliable method is the dorsal fin is "often" rounded to the back in females and pointed in males. Even thats not 100% as some females get trailers on their dorsal fins which complicate things.I have a female snakeskin right now that if I had not bred her I would think she was possibly a male.

I know a few of our sponsors over the years have told me that their success rate in picking males and females is probably 75%. Somtimes its so obvious others not.

They look like females that were hormone with male hormones.
