    F is for Filial
2 unrelated ( usually wild) parents are F0
    their young are F1
their young is F2 etc as long a brother is bred onto sister.

There is a spectrum of brown discus color variants from yellow ( Xingu) to scarlet (Alenquer/Santarem) .
IMO A good wild 'red' discus is a Brown discus that shows a lot of red. This should be almost a scarlet red such as seen between the blue striations in a royal blue discus , not a rusty brown or ochre or yellow. All Browns can easily be made red with color enhanced food but some will get truly scarlet. In wilds it is attributed to water conditions & diet & often they will lose that redness & take months for it to reappear in the aquarium. You cannot really call the F1 or F2 generation reds until you see what they are & select them . Some will be red(ish) others will be yellower.

    Thanks for the info, David.
I really can't back up what i call them or even what they will look like as adults. The best I can do at this point in time is show the parents and guarantee that they are healthy!

It looks to me like you have 2 very nice Golden type browns there so their babies should be good also. With that pair in grow out I would probably be selecting the yellowest or lightest colored of them. It will be interesting to see the range. Good job there Tyler
