Did I ruin my Bio-Wheel

I have a penguin 280 on my 29 gallon and i started a meth blue and salt treatment on it a few days ago. I pulled out the sponge filter and put it in a bucket w/ water to feed ammonia to keep it alive, but I accidentally left the bio-wheel in. It is now dyed a dark blue. Is it ruined forever or will bacteria still be able to grow on it even though it's dyed blue?

Maybe not for ever, but why not just buy a new one?

Or bleach it with hydrogen peroxide... it should clean it up okay.
