    Default spawning on sponge filter

    should i disconnect it or leave it....they're spawning on the actual sponge material itself....
    anyone ever had a successful spawn on a sponge filter???lol

    I'm making spawning cones tonight...obviously too late for this spawn...

    David.

    I'm very sorry to have to be the one to tell you this but those breeders are defective. Best get rid of them now. Any discus that knows anything knows to not breed on the filter. So you might as well get rid of those culls. I'd be happy to take them off your hands. No trouble at all.

    Yep David
    cone or no cone they will spawn where they want
    I have one female that I can't break the habit of using the sponge filter, I do'nt turn it off and the fry come out fine.

    i agree with Dennis, they span wherever they want to. Just let them be and things should work out fine.

    I just had that same problem and the babies are free swimmers now.
    If you look at my post (My Mother The Sponge) and then over at the pics gallery (RSG Marlboro Fry) you will see that it may work out fine ;D
