Here's another!! The cobalt is fairly small, but I figure what the heck if she wants to lay eggs, let her lay eggs!!

Wow Darcy!!!
Thats a huge amount of eggs!!! I hope you just have an egg-machine female....but it still makes me think that PB is a girl :-\
Any how....if its a fertile pair, those babies are gonna eat you out of house and home!!!
Best wishes on the new family!!! ;D

Good luck with the eggs Darcy. It's been a couple of days now since they were laid. Are they fertile?

Re:New Parents?
these eggs were layed sometime yesterday between 1:30 and 5:00 pm.
As of tonight some of the eggs are white but the majority are not!! So everyone that called that PB a male could be right!!!! Both the parents are watching the brood and fussing over them!!! Not bad, as this is their 4th attempt! I thought they would eat them like all the other times. Little bugger's fooled me!! No if they will raise them... that we will have to see in the next few days!!

Re:New Parents?
You know people, Is it possiable for the both of them to lay eggs at the same time? They friggin ate them again before I could tell if they were fertile or not. :'( :'( :'( I think I'm going to switch some pairs around. I'll try thay cobalt with my turqx ss male and the PB with a turq female. I have enough fry to take care of already so maybe this is a good thing!!! Ah well back to the drawing board!!!!!

Re:New Parents?
I'd guess you'd get cobalt, turquoise and snakeskin babies, lol. But who knows. I thought I'd get a 50/50 mix of turks and pigeons and all turned out to be pigeon.
Are you seeing the male make passes over the eggs? He could still be a male and just standing around watching. (some discus are just stupid)

Re:New Parents?
Carol I haven't seen the male(maybe) fertilize. I came home to do a water change and feed my fry when they were still in dishes. I fed all the rest and there were no eggs. When I came home at 5 that was when I noticed eggs. Now that I have my 2 week Christmas break, I will make them spawn again and get some results one way or another. If I think it is not a male back to the orgy tank for both of them and try again!!
