Bloodworms
I am about to order some bloodworms and i was wondering how much to order. I don't know whether I should get 5 lbs, 10 lbs, or what. I have 33 fish with about 7-10 more on the way after the new year. So, who has experience of how long a certain amount will last, feeding generously once a day ( i feed other stuff the rest of the time)?

Re:Bloodworms
Bloodworms or Blackworms?
CBW I feed two tanks of adults once or twice a day and a tank of 12 fry several times daily. I go through about 1 LB in 1.5 weeks... roughly. My fry are growing so it will probably 1LB per week pretty soon.
I wouldn't order more than 5 LBs at first until you figure how long it will take you to go through them. You don't want them to be around too long even if you could keep them alive. I would aim to order once a month at least... maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks.
Just my experience.
If this was about bloodworms, sorry. None of this applies.

lol...yea...i have my blackworm order down, but i do mean bloodworms. I'm getting Hikari frozen bloodworms in 16 oz flats and was wondering how much to order and how long it would last.

Re:Bloodworms
Hey Brad- You getting them from Dave C.? What is his minimum? Stick with the five pounds. I feed 200 fish on a pound every 4 days or so- once a day. Frank

Re:Bloodworms
depends on how much room you have in the freezer to store it, and whether you get a deal for buying in larger quantities...you'd probably save on shipping buying a bunch all at once...
i've had 16 oz flats since summer time and they are still not showing any signs of freezer burn or any other degradation...
buy as much as you can if you have the room, and the price is right...

Re:Bloodworms
hey,
I can't order enough to meet Dave_C's 20 lbs. minimum, so I'm going to go w/ threeguysaquatics.com It's $8 per slab and shipping for 5 lbs is $14 and shipping for 10 lbs. is $18. Anyone have an idea as to how big each flat is, like the dimensions in inches or something?

Re:Bloodworms
My 16oz flats sell for $6.84 U.S. ($10.60 Cdn) for 20lbs plus shipping. If you order 40lbs or more it's $7.50 U.S. ($11.65 Cdn) including shipping. I understand that the minimum is pretty high but I find that there is far less risk of thawing with this amount of product and the cost of shipping, packaging & dry ice is more reasonable.

Re:Bloodworms
Dave, how big is each flat? I'd order from you if I had my own place, but I'm in high school and live w/ my parents, and well....my mom wont give me that much room.
