    Default Garlic in B.H mix

    Hi all,
I wanted to share an interesting event with all. The other night while feeding my fish the usual frozen B.H mix, I noticed a large piece of garlic come off the chunk. I made a mental note to myself to get that out, as it will spoil the water. Well, to my complete surprise, my brilliant blue female sucked in the whole piece and swallowed it right down in front of my eyes. I thought "There is no way I just saw that!" Man, is her breath gonna stink! ;D

    Hi Steve
the same thing happened to me a while ago with a female blue turq. I thought is was a mistake on her part and she would spit it out!! No deal the pig ate it!! I try and get the garlic as fine as I can but after seeing that I'm not as worried about as I was before!!!

I fed my discus some finely chopped and dried garlic chunks just to see what would happen and they cleaned up the whole batch. Apparently they like garlic as much as I do!

    Hi all,
Chi, this garlic was contained in a mix I did up myself in a grinder. It was frozen in the cube trays for ease of feeding. I was feeding a cube, letting it melt and come apart in my fingers(the discus rip at my hand to get at it) and a large piece came off the cube. That's when the female gobbled it down, WHOLE! I would say it was the size of a B.B from a BB gun.

    Steve,

The Garlic is a MAJOR atractant for the fish.

I use it in my BH too. They love it and yes I have seen what you described first hand as well. No worries no problems.

Just watch out for the extra gas bubbles produced by your female.

Who knows maybee that's why the boys like her
