    Default WATER TEST'S

    Hello everyone,
What is a good test kit that I can use to test the parameters if my water?? The one I have now is ok but kinda micky mouse. What is everyone using.........master test kit or individual?? I have been looking for a kit that has everything.........Ph high and low, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, GH/KH, phosphates..........etc. Which is better liquid or the tabs??

    Thanks
    Rob ;D

If you are planning for the long run, master test kits are a good idea as this will save you the price of one or two test kits. If you only want to test for specific things, then buy the individual ones. The Aqua. Pharm. ones are good as mentioned by gary but I use Aquasonic which are Aussie made and also very reliable.

Most test kits use the same basic chemicals to get the results so just about any of them will give you decent results. I have found that once I was comfortable with my water I dont use my kit as often, so they should last for a long long time.

I use the Aquarium Pharm master test kit which has everything except a chlorine kit. Yogi bought a cheapo 5$ kit from Home Depot for that.

I did go out and buy a cheap pH meter to do sanity checks on my tanks, but I do check everything monthly to make sure things track.

    Peace,
    Roger

I use the Hagen ones and seem to be alright. But when I want to be really sure I take a sample of water into work and have our water specialist test it!! Ahh the joys of working for an environmental company!!
