    Default Butterflys In the winter!!!!!

    Hi all,
Talk about depressing weather...Cold..snow on the ground...cabin fever big time.... Had to get out!! We needed a touch of spring and summer, and needed it fast. Plus I needed to take pictures of wildlife... I missed it too much.

Thank god for people with great ideas like creating a conservatory with flowering plants and butterflies year round, and thank god they did it in a nearby Town. South DeerField Massachussettes ,is the home to one very cool place... Magic Wings Butterfly Conseravtory and Gardens...If you are in the area, you have to visit. This was our first visit, and it was unbelievable....Butterflies everywhere!!!

    Heres some pics....

You are a great photographer Brew.
    those shots are brilliant.
We have a butterfly farm just outside Sydney, but it's very old and not nearly as beautiful as yours.

As you speak of cold weather,snow,etc... wish i was there. In Sydney yesterday, temperatures were around 113..

    nice shots brew.

i went to a similar place in FLorida. Sure IS a lot of fun. They did not let me take in my tripod, but I managed to get some neat pix anyway.

    Good job!

Al : Nice to see......................In Sudbury we have Science North which is a science center. Last year they put a butterfly conservatory on to it. I have not been there this year but last year in the middle of February I went and it was great. It was all glassed in and the humidity was obviously very high. But it was sort of sureal (sp) when you look outside and see 4 feet of snow. I have some pics around somewhere and I will try to find them. Butterflies with snow in the background.........typically Canadian eh?

    Hi Jason,
It was hard not to! they had a lot of staff there, though, and you could not even remove them from you if they landed on you. The staff would do it with a foam staining brush!
