Yes, the red melon/red doll is originated from pigeon blood. So some of them still show specks when the water condition is not right. The super red melon/super red doll is with less specks. Please correct me if I make a mistake about this.

Thanks for your info. by the way, one of my discus has gill disease. one of his gill was shut and the other one open wide and breath heavily. Is this the gill fluke ? do you have any experience ? Thanks !

Nicefishman---The classic sign of gill flukes fits your description.
The super red melon and super marlboro red also has more intense red and less black in the finnage. Joe
