    Default Linear Air Pumps

Hi! Does anyone own a linear air pump? I'm considering purchasing a 16 Watt Whitewater Linear Air Pump to support my fishroom of 8 (and expanding) tanks. I would like to know if these require maintenance and if it operates with loud noises. Also do I build a manifold out of pvc to distribute to the tanks or just piggyback air valves?

    Thanks

    walton,
I use a LPH26 that I recently purchased from Jehmco. It is very quiet. I am running it on 4-75's, 1-90, 1-72 and 1-55. I will be ordering the next size real soon. I am very happy with the pump.
The air system is 3/4" PVC Sch. 40 pipe. I drilled 36 holes, tapped them and installed valves. It is real easy to do, should take ya 1-2 hours max.

I bought one of these from John at Jehmco. He was VERY helpful helping me pick out the correct one for my set up and answering all my questions.

It did drive me nuts though when I first got it. It was SO quiet that when I would enter my fish room I would PANIC because I thought I power went out ;D

Just to add my 02cents, I have the small one, love it, never have to worry 'bout the fish having enough air. Added an inverter, so in power outages, they'll have air for awhile. Have more air than I'll ever need. Just call John, you can't go wrong.. JMO Dottie 8) 8)

I also have a linear pump from Jehmco. It is fantastic! Super quiet and efficient.

    I am running a 60, 50, 3x 29 and 2 55 gal water treatment drums and will be adding a 120 real soon.

Hi: Thanks for the replies. I'll probably make a pvc manifold. Where's the best place to get those brass valves?

Fantastic i use the bigger model and it aerates 44 tanks with 2 airlines in each tank (some have 3).It roughly ruuns 80 filters.
I use 13mm airline that branches off 3 different ways across the room to reach all tanksbefore it then branches off to dividers that reduse to 6mm airline.
