why the discus take oval body shape instead of round shape ?

i think due to inbreeding.

a discus might have had ancestors with that shape, or might by hibred which might have resulted in some deformity.

hope the others also have answers.

Some discus are round, some are not.

They're all fun to have...

P.S. I don't really think an oval shaped discus is necessarily due to in-breeding. It's simply genetic. There's many, many wild caught discus that are oval. It's just that the round ones are the more desirable...
