    That's a tough one but I'll ask questions anyway... does it have something to do with his shape/forehead?

    How about the shape of the fish along the dorsal fin???

    Looks a little odd towards the soft rays of the dorsal.


    Any way just an un-educated discus wannabe guess.

    Hi Mike,
    Im gonna give it a try, id say that its over all a good looking fish but i think it has bad shape, if you look at its tail it looks like its not big enough for the fish it almost looks like one of those bat discus and to me thats a genetic defect not a good genetic outcome. If you breed this fish it would more than not pass it on in a worse way if that is indeed what your looking at.

    Is the problem around his tail area in that it is not better contured with the rest of his hind section?

    Hmm....I love these posts! This is a hard one! To me it looks like his eye is a little cloudy, but that could just be the picture.

    Rod is correct, Short Dorsal and Anal fin. High quality breeder should not answer... he he :P
