STILL not eating
I posted about this guy last week. He was in a 125 planted and one day I noticed that he wasn't moving around much and had no interest in food. Up till that time he had been spawning every 7 days. But this time when his girl started dancing, he didn't care to join her. As I said before, I had never noticed any abnoral behavior ar feces. Water params were ph 7.0, gh 3, kh 5, temp 83. At your suggestion I moved him to a hospital and raised the temp to 90. He has now had 4 days at 90 degrees, the past 2 of them with salt added at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons water. He is much more active...in fact he acts and looks perfectly normal except that he WILL NOT EAT!!!! I've been offering him CBWs and Hakari blood worms which are my fishies favorites. What do I try next?

Re:STILL not eating
Hi liz,
JMO, but I would try treating for hexamita if the fish were mine . It could be that or worms, but generally i have found that loss of appetite and Hex can go hand in hand. If you have access to metronidazole , I would use it.

Re:STILL not eating
Hi Liz,
I agree with Brew as far as the first choice in useing Meds!
But if it does not work IME try Flubendazole capillaria is often mistaken for hex and will cause the poor appetites aswell in Discus.

IME I have seen this many times in Discus more in wilds and after 4 days in flubendazole their appetites pick up tremendously!

Re:STILL not eating
Thanks Brew and Cary. I'll pick up some flagyl (or dimetro if they have it) at the vet hosp. tomorrow. I think I'll try 250 mg 3X daily with 50% wc each time.
