    Default Automatic Water Change

    Hello, everyone! I've been thinking about an automatic water change system and I'd like that the most experienced could give some tips (and even tell me if my idea will work!). Here's the project:

    * The thing called Device "X" is a device that automatically turns the pump on whenever the waterlevel reachs a certain mark and turns it off also automatically when that same mark is reached. Sorry, but I couldn't find the word in English.

    Here's the process:

    1) I open tap A;
    2) Water from aquarium falls into the garden;
    3) At a certain point, Device X turns the pump on;
    4) Aquarium is filled with water;
    5) Device X turns the pump off.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Lauro.

    The service probably charges for that particular service. They say they are free but it is usually only with partial service. Most of the photo service sites are having financial problems and the free ones are dissappearing fast.
    You can post it right off your hard drive by hitting the "Browse" button below the space where you write the post. It has to be the file types listed though.

    Ryan is working on a way to do drawings right on the forum, it will make things much easier.

    Lauro Baldini,

    There are some great devices that do exactly what you want in this DIY section

    You can use a timer to turn the pump on and have a overflow on the main tank for safety (in case it over fills). If you pump out the correct amount and pump back in the same amount, you should not have any issues with overflowing your tank.
