can't get the "Search" to work

I've used a lot of search engines, but I can't figure out how to use the one on this site. "help" doesn't have a section for the "search". Any suggestions? :'(

try this... open the search screen, type in the word you are interested, and the user name if you know it, if not select "any user"
check off all the boxes, and check off both the subject and message fields

In the ages since last post section, fill in all the boxes with 0, except the last "max age since last post" here set the days to some number of interest . The site is less than a year old, so you are safe with under 400 days.

tell it how many results to display. I usually select all.

Be very general in your search. Sometimes searching for detailed keywords or specific phrases doesn't turn up too many results.

As Al said, make the Max # of Days about 365, then it should search the archives for the entire site.
