    Default Daphnia

Everyone uses BBS for free swimmers. Has anyone tried to hatch Daphnia?

Seems like since they are fresh water then they shouldn't die off and pollute the water as quickly as BBS would. Also more nutritional.

I know as adults caught in the wild they pose a serious parasite risk, but I've seen someone on Aquabid selling cultures that should be parasite free.

    Interesting link!

Since the females do the primary reproduction asexually then I could see where a sustained parisitical colony could remain.
