Unbelieveable pair
HI all!
I have been a discus hobbist for a little under two years now. This board has been a gift in so many ways. After the normal trials and tribulations of trying to breed discus, I have had a pair lay eggs 7 days ago. Being the first clutch I thought they would never make it for sure.
They are nothing less than naturals :-)
They fry became free swiming today and are on the parents. Thanks to you all for all your help, support, and guidence.

Well, it's not often they get it right on the first try. Congratulations 8)

Re:Unbelieveable pair
I am still in disbelief myself Carol I thought that I would wake up and the reality of eaten eggs would stare me straight in the face. I hope this inspiration to others as well since, as rare as it is, it does happen. Thank you for your kind words :-)

Re:Unbelieveable pair
Feed the parents really clean food like cbw or blood worms and don't overfeed the parents. Carefully change 10-15% water twice a day if you can (especially important when the fry start eating bbs).
You take care of the water and they'll take care of the babies

Thank You Carol,
Already started the cleaning schedule and water changes. Parents are phased a bit and they are still eat Hikari worms out of my hand. I am thinking of calling Ripleys believe it or not :-)

Re:Unbelieveable pair
Congratulations Scott
It never ceases to amaze me when I watch a pair of good parents tending to their eggs, then fry.
You were lucky, but it shows the good care they have received from you.
Good luck with the horde.

Re:Unbelieveable pair
Thank you Paul for all your kind words. You are right about it being amazing. I have found myself watching them for hours in amazement. I just wish I could share more of the experience other than pictures. Thank you for the compliment on the care but we all know that only goes so far. I only consider myself very lucky and fortunate. I hope everyone else gets to experience this at least once. It gives a whole new appreciation to the hobby.
More pics soon
