    Default Babies not cooperating

Hello everyone, have a pair of Beautiful hi fin Blue Diamonds and the spawn regularly but every time, the babies cannot find the parents and end up at the bottom of the tank swimming all funny and die out a day later.
Now i know that they are clean, no flukes, my water is also clean, pH 6.5 Hardness 110 ppm temperature 86.
Does anyone knows why the act like that?
Thank you and i love this forum.

No the Parents don't turn dark at all, but why are the fry spinning out of controll.
Only one baby made it to eat from the parent but the next day he was gone.

Check your ammonia, and nitrites, even the smallest amount will effect fry.
also when you do w/c the ph & temp has to be very close to the parameters of the tank water. and use a declorinator unless the water is aged.

After a very strict Treatment with fluke tabs, i cheked under microscope one of the other Discus i had with them and found no trace of flukes.
Before starting the treatment i also checked the gills of one and found them, so i unfortunately killed already a copple of them to make sure i don't have this problem.
There is no ammonia and no nitrite i use peat moss to make the water acid.
My next step is to artifically feed the babies, and see if they still have the same problem.
    My adventure continue.

    Hi Mat
Just a note about checking with the microscope. You don't have to kill a fish to look for flukes- just suck a sample from the gills with a dropper. If you make sure to get a good suction on some gill filaments you will get some mucus and any flukes that are there.

And remember that a fluke-free sample doesn't prove that the fish is fluke free. Subsequent checks will give you more confidence though.

    Regards

Good to know Rod i will try to save the fish next time.
Next question would be, will Praziquantel kill the flukes for sure, If i treat them properly, or some strains might resist the medicine.
I'm planing on starting the tratment on all the tanks i have, to make sure i kill this problem for good.
