    Default test kits

Decided to buy some test kits to start testing the water in my tank, but not sure which company's tests to buy. Have seen Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, Hagen, Tetra and Red Sea test kits in lfs.

    Thanks for the help.

API Test kits are pretty accurate and here in UK they are good value for money.. You get plenty of TESTS for your cash. Also apart from the Nitrate test they are all Single bottle tests which means none of the "5 Drops from Reagent X, 2 Drops of Reagent Y" etc...

Tetra tests are accurate but painfully slow with more than one bottle.. also you only get like 28 tests per pack or something like that and Tetra stuff is really expensive...

Hagen is also a lot of filddling around with more than one bottle of liquid per test...

    My opinion is Aquarium Pharmaceuticals!

I use Aquarium Pharms master freshwater kit and it works well for me. Besides my three little girls love to help daddy add the drops to the tubes. ;D
