    Default Picture quality

    Ok -I want Carol to know that she make me sick everytime she post a picture that is so clear that its like being there.]

    The problem is 2 years ago I bought what i thought was the top of the line camers (canon S10) and paid 800.00 plus for it .Ever since day one it has driven me crazy .Its not like I am not familar with taking picture dam I shot 1000s with a 35 MM. But this piece of junk I own now will not freeze motion, picture clarity is the pits and canon right from day one did zip for me .
    How about everone posting a picture and giving a rundown on there digital they use as I will be purchasing another one and if I bought one like this I am afraid I might kill myself.
    Here is a average picture from this thing.

    PS Carol I love the quaity of your pics.

    Fisheyes - I agree with you. I have been patiently waiting for the digital cameras to be come user ''fool-proof''.
    There are some incrediable improvements !
    and some incrediable $$.$$.

    It seems alot of members have digital cameras; so I would be interested in their personal expierences - good and bad.

    What to look for and what to avoid !!!

    And to keep it close - to - the - ground; an affordable unit .

    Guys what you need to do is send me all those cameras. I'll try them...write down the best way they work and send them back to you. .... and if they don't work...I'll throw them out for you...I swear it ;D ;D

    Thanks for the compliments. I have an older Sony Mavica FD73. It uses a floppy instead of a memory stick and is really easy to take lots of pictures and easy to view on computer. My camera does take pretty good close-ups, but others have better color than my camera.

    If possible, try cameras that friends own so you can see not only what camera works the best, but how pictures are transferred to computer.

    Olympus 3040Z
    you need to adjust the shutter speed to a speed fast enough to stop motion but slow enough to let in enough light.
    Settings for my camera that works well for fish pics.

    Flash=Off
    Manual Shutter speed= 1/60 - 1/120 sec
    ISO=400
    Exposure Comp= +2.0

    I would like to add..........buy one from a major Camera company such as Olympus.......remember the most important part is the lens. I think that is the main reason the 3040 takes such nice shots.....one feature of the lens is a f. stop of 1.8. which is a great lens for low light.
