Ro water suppliments your opinion needed

Ok got an RO unit and was advised by my LFS that instead of using Ro water adjustments use 1 tsp of Marine salt ...? they say that many of the discus people use this as it contains all the trace elements .. this is not straight table salt has anyone tried this does anyone recommend this ..

Most of us just add a % of tap water to our RO to replace minerals.

I have used Instant Ocean salt and it seems to work well. I have not used it by itself (mixed with RO Right, sometimes a little tap) but it certainly shouldn't be dangerous to your fish. Any of the marine salt mixes should work for you. Tropic Marin has more trace elements than most of the others (Kent, Instant Ocean, Reef Crystals, etc...) but shouldn't be necessary as those additional elements are meant for coral growth.

Yes Andrew that is what they said they use instant Ocean marine salt instead of the Ro suppliments if understand you correctly then I can use this safely to put the essentil electrolytes back in to the Ro water ..

it this right ?
