    Default viability of flake food

I think I read or heard some time ago that flake food in water loses it's nutritional value within 15 seconds or so. Have any of you heard of this or know it to be a fact?

Not to sure about how good it works for discus but I raised allot of angels using wardleys and they grew to good size. Of course I used some frozen foods as well but mostly flakes.

I do not know for a fact that that is not true but many people on SD feed flakes to their Discus and they do well. I do not think it is true and it seems unlikely that 15 seconds in water will damage the flakes, if that were true no one would feed them and the various manufacturers would change the formula. I feed mostly Tetra Flakes and some beef heart flake and my fish do well. Discus Hans, an SD sponsor, has a great flake but it is more expensive. I will switch to that when I run out of Tetra flakes.
