    Default deworm or not deworm?

Hello: New to discus..... Been keeping Cichlids and Angels for 15 years. I've never dewormed my cichlids and angels. Do discus need regular deworming? Why and how often? Thanks

Wilds need to be dewormed. Some domestics have worms - some don't. I don't think discus need to be wormed on a regular basis.

I feel that deworming should be done, only when needed .
Not as a plan to keep dirty water, poor feeding habits and stressing your fish by adding tank mates and changing the
enviroment constantly, like some do. Keep it clean and plain.

I've heard from people that feed live cbw's, that they prophylactically treat for worms every six months, which puzzels me because they all claim cbw's don't transmit worms to discus. ???

I agree, c.b.w. need to be very clean and stored properly. This is were things go wrong and fish get worms.

Black worms do need to be cleaned and stored properly.

No one has proven to me that they infect discus with worms. I've fed them everyday for a year and do not regularly treat for worms. In fact the few discus I have treated did not pass worms.
