Thanks for the congratulatory appraisal smokey.
O'Dwyer, i regret to inform you that it is not actually the prestigious All Blacks playing this weekend but rather our national seven's team. The seven's tournament is completely different (so my flatmate informed me yesterday) and apparently his pet-hate is people who think the sevens team is the all blacks but the rules between the two games are very similar. In sevens each game lasts only 15mins total (and 20 for the finals) whereas in rugby each game lasts 80minutes. That's the biggest difference, and also, none of the current All Black's are in the seven's squad. Hope that makes sense?
Crystal clear. I mean they're BOTH called the All Blacks. Of course a Yankee should assume they're different teams. When I was a child, I lived a few blocks from the NotreDame & Loyola College campuses in Baltimore Maryland. Both schools had Rugby programs. Neighborhood kids and I used to sneak up and watch the practices. So much physical contact and no padding.
Luca,
1 year ago I was counting down the days to the near month I would spend in NZ. Wish I were doing it again this year. Next time I go I'm spending a week in Takaka.
My wife and I are trying to buy a B & B., summers are murder, winters are dead. So who knows, maybe we will Winter (you're Summer) in NZ each year. Can't talk her into moving there, but she seems keen to that idea.
I thought one was actually called the "New Zealand Sevens team" and the other was called the "All Blacks"? i'm not that much of a rugby buff so i don't really know to be honest!
that's cool you could watch some of the training, i've heard that american's can't believe we don't use padding etc such as they do in your equivalent sport: football. this makes rugby exciting to watch due to the possibility of big hits, injury, blood etc and it makes me glad to watch it on TV or at the field and not be one of the players amidst it all! i guess a lack of padding is good for the spectators but bad for the players. my view is that rugby players are rather crazy for this reason.
i like the B&B idea, you could have discus tanks set in the walls, ones you can see from both sides even! maybe i'm getting carried away? who would run the B&B while you're away though spending winter (your summer) in America?
goodluck convincing the wife anyway
No we'd come during your Summer which is our Winter (say Jan 15 through February 28th).
No one would run the B & B, we would just have a house sitter that feeds fish & cats and makes sure the automatic water changes take place and litter box is cleaned.
You mean to say that you have a completely automated water change system setup? I'd like to hear more about this... I know you can get a holding tank and pump the water in but how do you get rid of the old water and also how do you make sure it pumps just as much out as goes in?
Overflows leading to your drains Luca. That's how you do it.
makes sense lol
On this day last year I was in Te Anua! Bummer.
hey if there are any discus breeders in auckland
