Salt per gallon
how much salt (Non-iodized ) required to add per gallon of water?

It depends on the circumstance.
1 TBSper 10 gallons can ward off many ailments, but I've used up to 1 TBS per 1 gallon if a real problme is suspected.
If you mean how much to use all the time, I would not do it. Use it as a tonic from time to time...

Jeep is correct, you do not put salt in your tank all the time. I use it when I have newly arrived discus or ones that aren't feeling well.

Even my case is the same! my discus are gonna arrive in a day or two! i hav already setup my tank, its resting with water and oxygen pump (which is ON 24x7 since 2days)... m i doing rite????

For new arrivals I would just put in 1 tbs per 10 gallons. I t really calms them down and takes away the stress of being in a new environment.

My 2 babies arrived last nite, they are around 2", they seem happy, exploring the whole tank even ate lil bloodworm...
But they r lil scared of my 3yrs old nephew as soon as he comes near the tank they hide themself behind the filter... accept that everything seems fine! Hope they get used 2 him
