Thread: Building a stand to support 2 tanks?

Default Building a stand to support 2 tanks?

Can anybody help me or has anybody ever done this before? I really don't trust most of the aquarium stands in the pet stores. They are also very expensive. I want to build a stand that would hold 2 55 gallon aquariums, one on top one on bottom. I don't know the dimensions of a 55 glalon tank just know that it is 48" long. I also want there to be enough room so i have space to clean out the tank on the bottom. Does anybody have any simple plans that they made before when making a stand?

I built this one very easily and for under $10. Its a 3 food rack, but you should be able to build a 4 foot one pretty easily. Took me about 2 hours. I don't have plans but I'd be happy to answer any questions.

try not to build the bottom tank to low too the ground, makes siphoning/draining tougher.
