help setting up a big tank

how do the how do the plants look under 10000k. They're not washed out at all. I'm not looking forward to today. I'm going to be scooping 300 pounds of sand out of the big tank. :-\

Have fun Jeff! That isn't a fun job at all. The lights will be fine and the plants will not look washed out at all. Phil is right about discus not having sunburn, but with that much light you may want to buy some larger plants or floating plants just so the fish can have a place to get out of the direct light. Or sunglasses may be an idea 8). There won't be any adverse effects that I know of but your fish will be happier.
