I don't think you can have too much filtration.
I like more than one filter going in one tank as it provides backup in case one fails, and also if I want to move one filter to a new tank without having to cycle it.
Do make sure to clean any canister filters often.
I only use sponge filters in my filters. Easy to clean and reuse.
If the discus look and act ok, no problem. They generally get used to it.

I agree with Ardan, can't have too much filtration. My discus also play in the water currents when filling or just using airstone. Have a central air filter so lotsa air in every tank. FI: my 37gQT has an AC 300, 2 sponge filters, 2 airstones, sometimes more. My 125g has Lifeguard system, 4 sponge filters, a HOT Magnum on the back which I move around & airstones. The 90g has a wet/dry, 2 airstones & 2 sponges, sometimes 3.
After watching the fish play around the water falls & air currents, I don't believe the old story bout currents, JMO.
I would rather overdo than under filtrate tanks, & the fish are fine with that. Dottie ;D ;D

Sorry to disagree with you ardan and korbi doc, but i think terry has way too much current in his discus tank. I'd say there is about 2000 lph + in the 3 power filters he has attached and you can add a bit for the airstone as well...all in a tank that only holds about 120 liters of water. IMO as a general rule up to 5 turn overs an hour filtration is ok. So i would remove all of them except the AC 200 and i'd replace the airstone with an air operated sponge filter.

Hi terry,
I like the Sera brand of sponge filter the most, but most designs are pretty good.
