Default Help! red eyes slowly fading away

I have nine 3" discus( blue turq)in 65 gal for two month and their red color in their eyes are slowly fading away. some become totally black color. They are eating like pig and the body has the beautiful color. They look perfectly healthy and always beging for food. I feed them with BH mix 4x a day and w/c every other day. so what do you think why their eye color fading?
    Thanks in advance

There could be a few reasons for this, but i would guess there not happy. A fish that is getting sick will loose its eye color sometimes before any other symptoms show up. I could be wrong here, but it is my guess.
Blue diamonds and other solid types of fish will sometimes have there eyes change from red to a yellowish color, but i have never seen it in any turk based fish without an underliing condition.
I would at the very least up the water changes to every day at the minimum of 50%.

I agree with Matt. Also beefheart really fouls the water. You need to be doing daily water changes if you are feeding beefheart 4 times per day.

Personally I would substitute tetra bits or Ocean Nutrition Formula One Flakes for one or more of the beefheart feedings every day. . . . and still do daily water changes ;D

Are you only feeing you fish beefheart?? they definatly need more than beef heart, do you think you could live off of nothing but ground beef, and still get all your vitamins? Fish need just as many vitamins and minerals as people. Get them some krill, and also a high protein pellet or flake type food (with a minimum of 40% crude protien). I would recomend hikari cichlid gold.
