Jack,
How big is the inverter to power (2) pumps & a heater-What wattage heater are you using in cooler(size of cooler?).
Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I've been thinking trying this and was wondering what's working for you?
Thanks for your help.

Rob,
I use a 450 watt inverter. The heaters are 50 watt in a 60 quart cooler. I usually don't have them all running. It depends on what I'm moving and how far. In warm weather there is no need for heaters.

How are you feeling Jack? The wheels treating you OK?

Hey Jack...been too long! We gotta catch up, call me when you are back in town. Will you be at HAAS on Saturday? I'm due for a trip over to your place! (Lots of smilies...haven't forgotten how much you love them!)

Hi Jack,
I have a question about the air supply that you have set up. It looks like you have capped of the end, I was told that I would have to loop the ends so that I'm not putting pressure on my air pump, is this true? I was just going to run a pvc pipe and put a cap on it for about 20 sponges.
Thanks
Evelyn
Evelyn,
As of right now I have the system looped together. I had to double check after you said you saw a capped line. To answer your questions, there are a few trains of thought. To me it depends on the size of the air pump, the distance the air travels, and the amount of outlets. Using a loop system allows for air to fill a line more evenly but it isn't the only factor a person has to look at. You can plumb your air anyway you want as long as you can release the excess air pressure buildup and still maintain even air distribution.
The 1/8 hp Gast blower I had before was fine until I wanted to use 3-5 outlets per tank (60 Tanks). As I installed outlets and added airstones and more sponges to the system, I started to lose pressure to the system slowly. The farthest outlets away from the blower had the weakest pressure.
The new Sweetwater Blower is 1/2 HP and handles the task fine. I have outlets that are open to help release excess pressure. Some people will use a ball valve to help with excess pressure too.
Hope this helps.
