pH flux
Hi all,
I seem to have a slight problem with my pH, it has been slowly climbing from between 6.4-6.6 and now at 6.8-7.0. My nitrates @10, nitrites 0, GH six drops, ammonia 0. and temps @ 87. I have no carbon just a Marinland bonded filter pad( 4"x12" which is rinsed out daily. Also a 4"x12" nylon sak filled 1/4 with Peat moss granuals. Water changes three times a week with water(R/O) age @ 24 hrs and treated to match pH in tank. eLECTRO right and discus essential also added. Any ideas? ??? Thanks

Re:pH flux
What is your kh now and before? Is it a bb tank? Plants? Are you using pure R/O or mixed with tap?

My aquarium has 1/2" substrate with live plants. I dont have a kit to test my kh :-\ and it is pure R/O water.

Co2 injection? Bubble rate?
Id first of all recommend mixing tap with your RO and forgetting about the electro right and discus essential (my opinion as I like to keep it simple). You should be able to target your gh/kh/ph this way without the additional of chemicals that could be causing the swing.

Re:pH flux
6 drop = GH 6. I suspect your RO is membrane is not working very well. I bet your pH is raising because your membrane is worn out. You don't have any shells or calcium rocks like limestone in the tank do you?
Why are you using RO water? What is the GH of your tap water. I also believe in keeping it simple and don't add anything to my water
