I don't know about South Carolina, but I'm in the triangle area of North Carolina. If you're looking for outstanding discus in the area, try Aquamain's in Greensboro. They actually carry certified Jack Wattley discus (not knock-offs, these are the real thing). They're linked as an official retail seller on http://www.wattleydiscus.com/. Their web address is www.aquamains.com. You might could make one big trip up there to pick out your fish in person. They can and will order anything on Wattley's website for you. That way you have an actual store to buy from and don't have to deal with shipping. I've bought from them a few times, and can help with any questions about them.

    Doug,
Welcome to Simply. The only place I would recommend in NC/SC is Tim @ US Discus. I have know Tim for some time now and I highly recommend him. He imports his fish from people like Jet Li Sing, Orient, David Lim, and selected others. He is picking up shipments from David and Ryan this week and they are awesome!!!! There is nothing like hand picking your fish.
Tim's number is 704-226-1555, tell him Eric sent you.

Also, you should come to the Southern Discus Workshop in Atlanta April 3 &4. Speakers include Tim, Cary Strong, David Webber, Ken Reeves, Vicki Burnly, and Phil Edwards. There will be a free raffle and live fish auction with Awesome fish!!!! The website is http://southerndiscusworkshop.freeservers.com
Check it out and let me know if you are interested, we would love to have you.

I was unaware of that source in NC, and would like hear a little more about him. Where is he located? I can tell from the area code that it's western NC somewhere. Does he work out of a store, or his own home? Thanks!

    Isuber,
Tim is located in Monroe NC about 35 min SE of Charlotte off Hwy 74. He has a full setup at his house where he houses the fish until sale. At times he will have several hundred top quality fish. Tim also allows people to come and hand pick their fish if they perfer although he has a great eye for picking them as well. He has a shipment coming in from David Lim (fisho tribe) and Ryan aka Orient (Absolute discus) that will be ready to sell shortly.
Tim is also a great guy that sells quality at a fair price. I know he has some top notch Red Melons, Blue Diamonds, Mandarian Passions, and LSS that will be ready shortly.
    HTH,
    Eric
