These are all so gorgeous I wish I had the time to maintain the cleanliness of not having a bare bottom (pun intended)

This is my minimalist biotope tech tank and the discus have been growing for a few years now. Sorry for the photo quality.

gorgeous! Is that a Kessel light?
Tough act to follow but here is mine!

My wife is enticing them to the center of the tank.
The sparklies in the first picture are from the christmas tree.

I finally bite the dust and added root tabs under the Anubias with this mornings WC.

Very beautiful. Love same strain tanks but also the simple scape, lighting, and tankmates. Overall well balanced contrast and it's hard to do stuff like that where you pull off what looks simple but VERY tasteful!

Nice and simple looking scape James .
Open sand area in the front is the right choice for a discus planted scape.
I really love rimmles tanks filled right to the top but I would be concerd about discus jumping out of the tank
If Ive had one .But I'm guessing you use some kind of a lid on top for that purpose.

The open sand is where I deposit the food, some flows into the microswords and the discus seem to enjoy blowing the sand to find it. I have some flyscreen-like covering I can clip on but haven't yet. The discus don't seem skittish and don't dart around even if I approach the tank quickly is that something that gets worse as they get older? The light has a nightlight-built in so maybe that helps.

My planted tank. Plenty of Anubias, so many varieties to choose from i.e. barteri, hastafolia, coffeefolia, lanceolota, frazzeri, etc. I find they thrive in 84 degree temps. Never have an algae problem. Change 40% water weekly. Gravel vacuum half the tank a week.

Update on my aquascape. It's a bit more heavily planted, but the tank and fish are very healthy. I have 3 clown loach that control the snail population and 25 cardinal tetra because they're gorgeous and add visual diversity. IMG_8407.jpgIMG_8404.jpg
