I haven't heard that before ??? I don't think it would help much. Now a lower pH (mid 6's) will make the medication more effective. What are you using to treat the flukes??

HI
Since last friday I'm trying to fight off flukes ( in all of my fish) and later will try to do something for one fish that does not eat.
I did 90% WC 2 days ago and started to heat up my water up to 36 C = about 96 I guess
I bought some medication and I was told that if I'll lower my ph as low as 5.5 or even less I'll easily get rid of flukes which will "burn out" because of both ( temperature and low ph )
Now my question is ....
1. is it true that lowering ph will be very helpful in this case
2.
a)
how shoud I do it .. I mean should I prepare acidic water as my WC and slowly add it to my aquarium or
b) put some peat into the filters and let the water get acidic
3. what would you suggest use that trick with peat only for some period of time or
4. use only medications or
5. use both simultaneously ( peat & medications )
ps doesn't peat absorb meds ???
THANK YOU BYE BYE

I'm using PARAGON - it says blended biotic powder ... (...) wide spectrum anti-parasitic and anti-bacterial control.
So don't mess with ph ???
THANKS
