Thought I would share some updated pictures of our altums ..these guys have been real performers with excellent growth and health. Keeping them in a PH of just under 7 with a RO/Tap mixture. Water changes every other day at 25%, Temp at 83F, They love hikari bloodworms, spirulina flake, and HBH meatlovers flake.
I know they are not Discus, but these guys are definately one of my favorites

close up!
Hi Tad, they are spectacular!!! I read that they get really large, any idea what size they grow to?
Barb
Barb,
Thanks for the kind comments ...The Altums are facinating fish to just sit and watch IMO....What I have read they can grow somewhere around 5 to 6 inches..and from what I have read that is body only...when you include the fins their range can be as much as "18 cm (7 in) long and 20 cm (8 in) tall" as quoted from the "sciencedaily.com" website: http://www.sciencedaily.com/encyclop...ater_angelfish
