    Default Water for babie discus

Can babie discus be kept in a ph of 8 or is it better to keep them in a ph of 7? Does a ph of 8 effect their growing? Also, what should the gh and kh be?

My ph comes in at around 12 and ages to around 7.2 and my fry have no trouble at all. As long as your ph is stable, you should be fine.

As far as gh and kh? I'm not sure about my water because I use a TDS meter to measure hardness, but last time I checked I think the gh was around 8 and kh was around 5.

Harder water is fine once the fry hatch

You can grow juveniles in stable pH 8.0. Any GH and KH between 3 and 14 should work.

Generally when we see a pH of the 12 the water company has artificially raised it to protect their waterlines. The high pH quickly lowers once the water is aged
