Thank you Neil and all the others!
Spices,
actually I helped the guys from sweden a little bit. The drawers are not only mounted with screws but all sides are glued. After that some (but not many) additional fixtures are placed inside the drawers. The last thing is a 3/4 inch thick compressed wood back side instead of the "near" paper one regular from IKEA.
Nerusan,
no it is no problem with the sand. The thing is to get not the finest sand but sand with particles between 0,8-1,2 mm diameter (in inch????).
It is also important to have sand with a small variety of particle measurements (e.g. not from 0,2 - 1,5mm). Otherwise the sand gets stucked and hard.
I use a filter wich is quite common in Germany, I don't know if it is available in US, "Juwel Jumbo".
I try to have a simple construction. I don't like huge filtration systems. i think they are sometimes dangerous. For me it is more a question of the right proportion of all factors: tank, number of discus, amount of feeding, waterchange rate, UV yes/no....

Hallo Jason,
surely no problem to find high end wild discus in the "old world" for you!
Where in France do you live?
As I mentioned in one of the first posts, my dealer closed his shop. But there are still sources to get high quality fish (shipped to france, too...).
Alex
Thanks for responding Alex. I had a feeling that you had to do a little tweeking to make things just right for your customized table.
And that last photo is splendid too. Those fish are on the high end market here in the States. I would imagine it being like that over in your country too.
But yours is just downright AWESOME!!! Money well spent.
Well Alex, I am in the south of france in marseille.
I woudl love to look at settin up a new wild tank sometime. So if there is a breeder shipping to france and he has good quality, then I am all ears....
Thanks
Jas
Hallo Jason,
in the case you have 1 day holiday over you can go to Mr Hustinx in Belgium. There you will get big eyes and a empty wallet! You can also order there by picture and choose the individual fish, so you get exactly that one you want! (called "selected wilds")

"THE" wild discus dealer in Germany, Daniel Matthäus, ships europeanwide
www.amazon-exotic-import.de
(I don't get any commission or discount, it is only personal experience...)
