Candy. I have mine cut that short in length because sometimes I only need to clean one side of the tank depending on where my HOB and sponge filters are located. So if I'm not cleaning both sides one stays on during wc.
Those smaller peices also make it much eaiser to lift off and place while cleaning or wc. Taking the whole peice off sure makes cleaning faster and all other events that take place inside the tank.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Greg. I will get mine cut that same size then. I thought you might have typed 24 by accident as i couldn't figure it out!! lol... I ordered my light from Lowe's and it will be here on Tuesday, and tomorrow I am getting the glass cut. They only charge 7.50 to have your measurments cut!! I am so happy, i was expecting at least 25! Thanks so much for all your suggestions, as they have saved me massive amounts of money!!

Thanks for the link Cage, i will be ordering one of those soon.

There is a glass brace in the center. Why wouldn't the bigger measurements work? I am going to use the ones that Greg gave to me, but just out of curiosity.

Well with my brace a single piece across the length wont work because the brace is higher than where the glass sits. Yours may not be that way tho.

My brace has the same lip for the glass to sit on like the rest of the tank.

    Cage,
I just checked it out and the brace is right underneath the lip. It should be ok right?
