Hello everyone. I wanted to stop in and say hi. I joined this forum several years ago when I first wanted to do Discus. I determined that the timing and my setup wasn’t right for them then, but am back now considering Discus. I’m looking forward to being a more active member of this community. Tank is a 90 gallon, 48”x18”x24” with a 30 gallon sump. It was formerly a planted tank and is in preparations for a complete redo into a more appropriate Discus setup.

Sounds perfect. a 90 is my favorite size for a nice display tank. Not too tall for me to keep clean and lots of swimming room. I'd suggest a big beautiful piece of drift wood for a natural look.

Hello everyone,
I am Aniruddha. Just have started keeping Discus from last 3 months. Without any hesitation, I can say, this is the perfect experience I could ever have. Apart from its elegant body language (Irrespective of the price or the shape or color or quality), these little guies are so adorable and funny. Each and every one has its own personality. I can spend the whole day by watching them. More I see, the more I know. They keep me surprised every time. Considering all the hurdles, this is the most wonderful thing to experience. I am really looking forward for guidance from my seniors here.

As this thread came up...

My name is Adam... originally from Poland, where as a kid/teenager I used to have aquariums pretty much all my early life. Obviously all much simpler... different access to stuff, different budget, patience level was different too . Then moved to study, later work... pretty much all around the world... lived on three continents and number of countries so aquarium idea, even though always in my mind, never could materialize. Now I live and work in China... have Asian wife and 4-year-old daughter and planning to stay here for longer... so said to myself "screw that" and set up a discus tank 3 months back.
I'm generally into nature... love spending time outside... bonsai is my second big hobby, I maintain our garden, have dog, cat, parrot and felt that fish tank will fit the theme.
Even though I read extensively prior to setting up a tank I still have massive amount of knowledge to build and also catch up for last 20+ years. The other thing is that English is not my native language... hope my aquarium vocabulary will be expanding over time so I can follow all the great things here.
