a 125 gallon plexi tank from king ed. lol . no canopy to buy..and they are light and so nice and clear.
Im purchasing a 125gallon tank and have a choice between 3 companies for the make of tank, Oceanic, All-glass, or Hagen. Which one would be the best in your opinions?
Sincerely, Chris

acrylic tanks and i dont get along.....they always seem to somehow get scratched up...i know you like them, and i know alot of the merits of them, but i think i will stick with glass for now. Thanks.

Anyone near Pennsylvania looking for a 125?

Haven't had any experience with the Oceanics or All-Glass aquariums, used Hagens and they are ok. What I look for is the quality of the glass, i.e clarity with no distortion. Next I check the thickness, then the bonding and build quality. If you can view them side by side its easy to see the best built ones. My main tanks are Juwel and Rena, my qt tanks are hagen.

I've always gone with All-Glass. I love mine. I just picked up a new 55 on Monday.

Thank you for your replies guys and gals.
Sincerely, Chris
I'd go with plexi too if its in the budget, hauling around a glass tank over 100g is just no fun.
The other brands are all good except hagen, they use thick but low-quality glass and they are the only tank not csa aproved.
I like the way glass looks but have seen way too many just pop and destroy everything. If the Plexi gets scratched...polish it out.
Both my 75 and my 125 are All-Glass. I have been very happy with them.

Scans.Since my budget requires used tanks right now I've been on the net trying to find info that would educate me to look for warning signs.I like the way glass looks but have seen way too many just pop and destroy everything.
Do you or anyone else reading this know any other signs besides sealent becoming discolored and edges coming up?
Maybe if one uses a straight edge from time to time to see if any bow is taking place that is not visable at the time be another action to use.
Anyways don't want to hijack this thread but if enough thoughts maybe we can have this part moved.

nope..greg not going into sales on aquariums anytime soon. lol. its toys..i sell. anyone want some playmobil?? that ..i have stacked to the roof. : )
id go with hagen over the seaclear one..from victoria..someone i knew got a brand new one..and the brace broke ...he had to empty half the tank till he could return it and get another..it was brand new. it woudlve burst if he hadnt. if you insist on glass..get the store to deliver and put it on its stand..then if they crack it or flex it..and the seal goes..maybe they will be responsible?? id hate to think of carryin a 125!!! ouch!!! i can even get my 100 gallon plexi down a flight of stairs on my own..and in and out of my honda accord on my own..and it fits!! ive moved it 3 times now..still intact. : )
