Re: They're Here!!
I just did a quick water test and i guess the bio hasnt caught up yet in this breeder tank.
Ammonia - 0.25
Nitrate - 0.25
Nitrate - 10
PH - 7.2
Temp - 88
I only have the dip strips for hardness tests
KH - approximately 80ppm
GH - approximately 150ppm
I have no idea what the hardness reading mean so could someone tell me what the optimal levels should be. I know ive heard that if the water was to hard the eggs cant be fertilized?
Should i just do nothing and keep waiting or try to alter the water?
Im sure the slight ammonia and nitrite reading cant be good but the bio should catch up fairly quick as this is a seeded sponge from the other tank. But could the ammonia and nitrite cause them not to fertilize?

Re: They're Here!!
Cage, multiply the ppm by 0.056 gives degrees so that would 4.5 KH and 8.4 GH.
I'd say it was slightly too hard, also the male is still young too, practice makes perfect
Maybe reduce the hardness by blending in some RO water if you can, a 50/50 mix would work well.
